# How Tight Should a Compression Bra Be?
## Snug, never painful. You should feel held, not squeezed and never digging in, pressing on incisions, or making it hard to breathe. Always consult your medical professional with any compression questions you have specific to your recovery.
**Signs you’re in the wrong size:**
• red marks that don't fade
• numbness or tingling
• pressure on incisions
• counting the minutes until you can take it off
That last one matters more than you think. Compression only works if you actually wear it and a bra you dread isn't a bra you'll wear.
